  • St Patrick's Celebrations At Electric Avenue

    The good people at Electric Avenue have once again put together a fantastic line-up for your entertainment over St Patrick's weekend. Kicking things off on Sat 15 March is one of the newest (and best) arrivals on the Waterford covers band scene, Brand New Cadillac. Then on Bank Holiday Sunday 16th March, The Gangsters who are rightly considered to be the best ska tribute act in the country, make the trip down to Waterford for a night of Rude Boy fun and games. On St Patrick's day itself, "Club Cassidy” takes over The Avenue for a 12 hour session of music and good vibes, both in the bar and out on the terrace. Where else are ya gonna go!

  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Festival highlights need for Equality!

    Civil marriage, youth isolation and transgender supports were just some of the topics discussed in Garter Lane Arts Centre last week hosted by sOUTh (Waterford) and E.A.G.L.E. (Wexford).

    Waterford City Mayor Cllr. Mary O'Halloran opened proceedings on Saturday evening, saying "we all have a responsibility, whether it be in our home life, work life or social life to support each and every person in a community, to acknowledge their individuality and to celebrate and encourage their personal growth.” This was then followed by presentations from Marriag Equality and the Transgender Equality Network of Ireland.
