  • Rebecca Collins At EA

    Wednesday, 19th March 2008

Rebecca Collins takes her band and jazz thang to Electric Avenue on Thursday April 3rd and five days later releases her debut album, Chameleon Blues which follows an already well thought of At Sea.

Here's what some of the good and great have been saying about Tramore girl Rebecca:"Rebecca is at the beginning of what has the potential to be a fascinating career in music." - John Kelly, Lyric FM April '07

-"HOPE FOR 2008: Rebecca Collins. 'At Sea' evokes late night, candlelit, Tom Waits-style whiskey-drinking sessions." - Sunday Tribune Review, Dec 30 '07

  • The All-Ireland Champions against the Allianz National League Champions

    Wednesday, 19th March 2008

It had all the ingredients of a classic. The All-Ireland Champions against the Allianz National League champions. Indeed it had the added bonus in that the former, Kilkenny, were beaten by the latter, Waterford, in that same League final in Thurles in 2007. Well they came in their thousands to witness it. The sod in the famed Marble City was perfect. Along with a beautiful March afternoon the scene could not have been better. Unfortunately for the visitors they saw their influential midfielder and captain received his marching orders a few minutes before the break for a second bookable offence. This changed the whole complex of the outcome. Indeed I would have to say that perhaps the only person in the stadium who believed

By the eleventh minute it was 0-4 each with two frees from Dean Twomey and one from play by Alan O'Neill. By the eighteenth minute minute it was 0-6 each with Alan O'Neill and Matthew Barden scoring.

Matthew put us ahead five minutes later but Lismore finished the half strongly scoring three points before Dean Twomey finished the first half scoring from a free to leave us trailing 0-9 to 0-8 at the interval. The second half continued in
